I remember this day. My birthday celebration. The weather was so nice, two of us had decided on sandals, the ultimate statement of optimism. I'm in my beloved Lands' End Mocs (on sale). Ordinarily, I am not a name-brand sort of gal, but LE shoes are so comfortable (and so cheap at Sears). The Mocs make me feel tall, almost five feet, five, in fact. But I would love to be able to wear sandals. Just can't walk in them without tripping. And I am shy about exposing my toes.

Favorite Shoes

Favorite pair were my hightop, black and blue tennis shoes from 7th grade. I stretched them out and kept wearing them until 10th.
I still have them!

Favorite Shoes

A pair of dark brown chukkas I got in Santa Fe, Feb 1993, and wore pretty much every day forever. They got me all over Europe and Western U.S. before finally giving up. Have been trying to replicate them ever since, without ever quite succeeding.
